I didn’t had it easy growing up but I am determined to win

My name is Victor Nyawir from Kisumu city,Kenya. I was born in a family of three, all boys. My dad died when I was three years old. It was the beginning of all my trouble and perseverance.

Mum had just been a house wife all that while when dad was alive because he could make ends meet by his own. His demise left us like total orphans for mum had no work to provide for the family.

I trained to live in hardship, such that at times we had to go to school without eating. My elder brother struggled until we all finished primary school. No one was to pay our secondary school fee and needs.

My elder brother decided to look for a casual job to allow me continue to secondary level. I promised to work hard if he could provide for me. High school life was not that easy for I was sent off from school every time because of a number of shortcomings.

Some friends of mine told me to give up but I promised I would not. I struggled until the year 2017 when I sat for my exams and managed to score the minimum grade for joining universities in Kenya. Currently, I am a first year student in Moi university, still struggling but I will hold the race till the end.
